So Blessed!

Well I have to say I feel bad even calling it labor! It was pretty tough dealing with the contractions last night and this morning. HOwever, once I got my epidural this labor was so easy compared to Ava's. I progressed really fast and pushed twice. The nurse had me all set up while the doc was getting ready. She said why dont you try pushing while your not contracting so we know you can do it. I pushed once and everyone shouted "whoa stop that baby's going to pop out in one push!" So doc hurried up and put his gear on and baby was out. He looks so perfect of course and I was surprised at how "clean" he looked. He was screaming before he was all the way out and had great color. I think he looks a lot like Ava. Breastfeeding is going well and I seem to be recovering a lot faster after this one. I guess that's what happens after the first baby.

My favorite thing to do is watch Rick tend to Ellis. It makes me fall in love with him all over again. Because I am breastfeeding he cant do much in that department so he takes tending to the diaper changing very seriously. He is our CEO of waste managment and what a great job he does. So far he hasnt been peed on but Im sure our time is coming. We need to get some of those pee pee tee pees!

Thanks to everyone for their love, prayers, and support. We couldnt be happier and are just beamning. I can't wait for everyone to see him especially Granddaddy whom he is named after. Ellis is very excited to meet him and has heard what a great man he was named after. Ellis is so lucky have such two great teachers (daddy and granddaddy) of how to become such a great man. I have no doubt that Ellis will follow in their footsteps and is going to make a great husband or priest one day:)

Okay off to feed Ellis again.

  1. Oh my gosh Carrie...I am so happy for you all. I am glad you had an easy delivery. Those were such sweet words you said about Rick and Daddy. I have always said Rick is so lucky to have you. You two were definately meant to be together. I thank God for putting you two both in that Bible study together so you would meet and fall for one another! Ya'll take care. Rest when you can! Has Ava met her little brother yet? What does she think?
